Listen To The Universe As She Sings

Has the universe ever sent you a message?  They are usually subtle and easy to miss.  Sometimes though, the message is loud and clear and is repeated.
For example, years ago when I still had two parents existing in this dimension, we were planning a two hour road trip to visit them.
Warning number one...the day was supposed to be lovely but the wind was howling and the rain was horizontal.
That's all right.  We'll go anyway.
Warning number two...the hubs broke his glasses and I would have to drive.
That's all right.  I'm feeling confident today.  I'll drive and we  will head for home before it turns dark.
Warning number three...the daughter says she is feeling a little off and would rather stay home.  Nothing serious but she just didn't feel like going anywhere.
No problem, she's an elderly teenager capable of staying home by herself.
Warning number four...actually more like being hit upside the head with a hammer...we were backing out of the driveway and the brakes failed.
Well then...okay....message received.
By nightfall the three of us had the flu..in spades.  Can you imagine the misery of trying to drive home with three people feverish and having to stop every few minutes and get out of the car?  Not to mention the fact that we would have exposed my elderly parents to the disease.
Moral of the story.  Listen for those messages from the universe.   Sometimes you only get one.

  1. Sometimes the universe has to shout before we pay attention doesn't she?
And how fortunate that you did finally listen that day.

    1. She practically had to hit us upside the head before we took note that we were being notified.

    1. Since then she doesn't have to work so hard to get our attention.

  3. I'm glad you eventually listened that day.
I rarely notice messages from the universe, perhaps I'm just not tuned in enough.

  4. We were not 30 miles from home when we struck and killed a white cat on the highway. We all said "at least it wasn't a black cat" but we still should have heeded the warning. On our return trip we carried more passengers (those who wanted to return early) and before we made it home we had blown all four tires (one at a time) having to change, walk and ultimately buy a whole new set of tires along the way. That must have been one special cat for the universe to punish us like that.

  5. A trip that wasn't meant to be. I am like you though, it takes quite a bit to make me change my plans.

  6. The weather would have done it for me. Must have been one miserable time, but yes, could have been much worse.

  7. Lucky you weren't on the road! We've never had anything like this happen, but I'll keep your story in mind.
