Poetry Monday

Poetry Monday was started by our good friend Diane from On The Alberta/Montana Border.  You can find her in my side bar.   Join in, write a poem, read, critique, share your ideas.....it's fun, it's free....you can't go wrong with that.

 Shades of night
are softly falling,
gently calling
from darkened streets.
The cold wind moaning,
roaming,
in the new found city gloaming
moves between buildings
now dressed in deepest purple,
starlight glimmer.
As the darkened streets grow dimmer
steeped in midnight blue,
velvet black,
grey mists swirl and sweep
into every tiny crack.
‘Neath the lamp lights golden glow
curtained windows gleam
and grow
the shadows on the snow…
mystical
and magical
shadows on the snow,
from palest mauve to deepest ink.
So many shades of night
to know.

  1. Beautiful.
Every so often I consider playing, read what the current contributors have created, and skulk away. Colour me awed.

  3. Lovely descriptions of all the colours of night - you are an observant gal. Midnight blue is my favourite part of the night.
