Is it any wonder that newcomers to the English language have problems. One word can have so many different meanings. Take the simple little five letter word....draft.....
a gust of air
the first version of a letter or book
beer decanted from a barrel or keg
a large heavy horse used for pulling
a plan or sketch roughed out
the depth of water needed to float a boat
making sports players available for hire
to drink or inhale the entire thing at once
ie...she finished the glass in one draft.
Totally confusing isn't it? No Wonder!
